About Us

The Exercise Oncology Collective was founded to improve continuity of exercise support throughout the cancer care continuum.

Exercise is increasingly recognised as an important part of cancer care, yet many individuals are still left unsure:

  • where to begin,

  • what is safe,

  • who to trust,

  • or how to integrate exercise into their treatment and recovery journey.

For many people, exercise support can feel fragmented, overwhelming, or disconnected from the wider healthcare pathway.

The Collective was created to help simplify that experience through structured, evidence-based exercise support designed to complement cancer care and support individuals throughout every stage of the journey.

Our Vision

To create a future where every person diagnosed with cancer has seamless, integrated access to strcutured, evidence-based, guided exercise support from diagnosis through to long-term survivorship.

Our Mission

To improve continuity of exercise support throughout the cancer care continuum by:

Supporting individuals directly, building stronger pathways into movement and exercise, and developing a future network of Exercise Oncology-trained professionals across New Zealand.

Our Philosophy

We believe:

Movement is medicine,

exercise should begin early,

continuity matters,

and no individual should feel unsupported with movement once treatment or rehabilitation ends.

Brianna is the founder of The Exercise Oncology Collective and an Exercise Oncology Instructor and Educator trained through Maple Tree Cancer Alliance.

With a background in exercise coaching and complex population support, Brianna is passionate about helping individuals feel:

  • supported,

  • confident,

  • and capable of moving safely throughout and beyond the cancer journey.

The Exercise Oncology Collective was created from a belief that many individuals are left without clear exercise guidance once diagnoses, or treatment/rehabilitation ends - despite exercise being one of the most important long-term tools for recovery, wellbeing, and quality of life.

Her long-term vision is to help build a more connected exercise oncology pathway across Aotearoa by improving continuity of care and eventually connecting exercise oncology-trained professionals into a broader national network.

Brianna currently coaches at Align Functional Fitness, Richmond Nelson.
